Kink. Leather. Communities. Creating synergy since 1995 Explore yourSELF.

New to SELF? Start here.

Your first SELF can be educational, social, playful, quiet, or a mix of all four. You do not need to know anyone, own leather, understand every term, or participate in everything to belong here.

Many communities. One SELF.

One of the things that makes SELF unusual is the cross-section and cross-pollination of many communities, identities, traditions, roles, relationship structures, and lived experiences. We are not homogeneous. SELF is made of the many, and the many are welcome.

You do not have to be like anyone else. We will like you as you are.

Before you arrive: SELF is for adults age 21 and older. Bring a valid photo ID to registration. After you check in, wear your event badge in SELF spaces and ask for your virgin pin. The pin lets people know this is your first SELF, and attendees will make an extra effort to welcome you and help you find your way.

Your first day at SELF

1

Start at registration

Present your photo ID, complete the required agreements, pick up your badge and event materials, and ask for your virgin pin. Registration staff can answer immediate questions.

2

Get oriented

Check the schedule and take a few minutes to locate the workshop rooms, vendor area, social spaces, quiet spaces, information tables, and registration desk.

3

Choose one first stop

You do not need to plan every minute. Begin with one workshop, browse the tables, sit in an open social area, or settle into a quieter space until you feel ready for more.

4

Make connections at your pace

Visit SELF Connections if you are attending alone or want help meeting people for classes, meals, and events. Your virgin pin is another easy conversation starter.

5

Ask when you are uncertain

Staff, volunteers, security, registration personnel, and the information table are available to help. Asking a question is always better than guessing.

There is room to experience SELF your way

Open social spaces

Large shared areas give you room to browse information tables, see what community groups are doing, watch the flow of the event, and begin conversations naturally.

Places to sit and connect

Furniture and seating areas provide places to talk, meet up between activities, review the schedule, or simply take a break while remaining part of the event.

Quiet spaces

If the energy becomes too much, step into a quieter space. Taking time to decompress, reset, or spend time on your own is a normal part of attending SELF.

Coming to SELF on your own?

You will not be the only one. SELF Connections is designed for attendees who arrive solo and want to meet people for workshops, meals, parties, and conversation. It is a friendship and community-building program, not a cruising or pickup event.

A few final reminders

Review SELF's policies using the links in the page footer before arriving. Hotel common areas are shared with the public, while SELF activities take place in designated event spaces. Keep your badge with you, respect privacy and consent, and use registration or event staff as your first resource when you need help.

There is no single right way to attend your first SELF. Take your time, choose what works for you, and let the weekend unfold.
