SELF Signature Programs
SELF is a gathering place for the many communities and identities that make us who we are. Our signature programs create focused ways to learn, connect, and participate throughout the SELF experience.
Bootblack Academy
SELF’s Bootblack Academy is a progressive, hands-on educational program designed to build practical bootblack skills over time. The curriculum includes Bootblack Academy 101, 201, and 301, progressing from foundational leather care and bootblacking techniques to advanced repair, specialty-material care, and professional practice.
SELF created the first program of its kind in the country and remains the only event offering this kind of intensive, progressive, multi-year bootblack education. Not every Academy level is necessarily offered every year; the current schedule and registration information identifies which level or levels are available for that SELF event.
SE Women & Girls of Leather Gathering
An annual women-centered gathering for connection, conversation, and shared experience. Each year, a different host brings its perspective, selects the topic, and opens an interactive discussion.
Everyone in the room is encouraged to participate, listen, and share. All women’s voices are welcome and heard. Club membership is not required.
SELF Connections
SELF Connections creates welcoming opportunities to meet people and build relationships across the many communities that gather at SELF. Look for facilitated introductions, conversation spaces, meet-ups, and other ways to connect throughout the weekend.
