Audience Vote Categories per contest:
Mr. SouthEast LeatherFest, Ms. SouthEast LeatherFest, SouthEast LeatherFest boy and SouthEast Person of Leather
Pop Question/Hot Wear –
This could be anything from jockstrap for men and corsets for women to torn jeans, full uniforms, cruise attire, or leather. Contestant should dress in whatever they feel makes them look and feel the hottest and sexiest! (Keep in mind the GA nudity laws require a one inch strip up the butt crack, all genitals covered, and women’s aureoles to be covered.)
The contestant will answer a surprise question from the emcee, ranging from fun to serious. The Pop question could be anything from history to something specific about our region. The audience will be assessing how you handle spot questions.
Fantasy Performance –
This is the contestant’s chance to be creative, have fun, and give the audience more insight into what makes you throb: a leather, S/M, or other fetish fantasy. It can be erotic, political, educational, or funny. Your fantasy does not have to be sexual. Any imaginative scenario with a leather/fetish/kink lifestyle theme is appropriate. If your fantasy is sexual/erotic, please exercise good judgment and remember all activities on stage must be aligned with legal limitations. Creativity and originality is a bonus in this category. Provide your own music, manageable props, etc. Two (2) copies of music are needed burned to a CD or a jump drive. You will have an opportunity to run through your fantasy on either Friday/Saturday afternoon with full sound to get comfortable with the stage. If there are other people involved in your fantasy, they must attend rehearsal with you. Tell the story and add details to make it understandable!
Keep in mind, the more props and people the greater chance that something can go wrong. You and the SELF Stage Crew will only have one minute or so to set up and one minute or so to clean up and be completely off of the stage. The Fantasy Performance must be no longer than three (3) minutes.
Educational Presentation –
This is a 10-minute educational presentation. Share a presentation about your activism, your platform for your title, or an educational sharing. Handouts, audio-visuals, etc. may be used. There will be a short question and answer period (no more than 5 minutes) from those in the audience. Judges will observe and not ask questions. There will be a SELF representative (possibly Den Person) who will invite you to begin and close the session. Contestants will be scored on timing, educational content, ability to present accessible knowledge, and audience interaction.
