Bring What You Know to SELF

Teach, demonstrate, invite discussion, and help people explore ideas and skills across kink, leather, BDSM, relationships, identity, health, creativity, and embodied experience.

Presenter applications open September 18 and close October 15 at 3 PM.

SELF is shaped by the knowledge people bring into the room. Our attendees come from many communities, identities, roles, experience levels, and ways of learning. We are looking for presenters who can offer clear information, thoughtful practice, meaningful conversation, and opportunities for people to participate.

A strong proposal does more than name a topic. It tells us what attendees will experience, learn, consider, or be able to do after the session. New voices and established educators are both encouraged to apply.

Thank you for your interest in presenting at SELF. Applications will be accepted until October 15th at 3 PM.

 

SELF is looking for unique, interactive, and hands-on presentations which also intertwine with our theme: ALLURE

Allure lives in the tension between restraint and surrender—the ache that grows sharper the closer you get and the craving that deepens with every discovery. This year invites exploration where desire is honored, curiosity is fed, and hunger is celebrated.

 

NOTE: We do not accept breath play or fire play classes.

NOTE: Title Contestants are not eligible to teach nor host while running for a title.

 

Compensation for educators

 

• An event package when you teach one class and facilitate/sit on a panel or host a fun event. Panels will be assigned. Once assigned, no changes will be made.

• A 50% discounted regular package when you teach one class.

• An event package + 1/2 price for a maximum of 2 nights (at the $149 rate) for educators who provide two classes and facilitate or sit on a panel.

• An event package + 1/2 price for a maximum of 3 nights (at the $149 rate) for educators who do an intensive (3 hours) + 1 class or panel.

• SELF does not supply pens, monitors, laptops, or clipboards. Presenters should bring any of these items their session requires.

SELF asks all educators to promote their classes and SELF in general with a link on social media outlets at least two times a month between January 1st and May 30th (this includes responding to being tagged by SELF). Tag is defined as SELF's FetLife profile name, Bluesky name, Facebook name, Instagram, etc., so SELF is notified on the particular network outlet you use to promote SELF.

 

We will provide graphics for you to distribute across your social media channels that you are a SELF educator. All promotions need to contain a SELF tag. Please do not simply advertise on SELF lists, we do encourage that but we are asking you to promote your classes on other appropriate lists.

 

Form Information:

 

• You have the opportunity to suggest four separate classes (select that you have another class and form items to list another class will appear). Providing us with a greater selection is ideal.

• Please be as complete as possible.

• Please do not upload more than two pictures. Please do not upload pictures that you do not want us to use on the website or in our social media.

• Please make sure that you name your pictures with your scene name before uploading.

If you have more than four classes you would like to propose, please fill out a second form and indicate that it is your second form next to your name.

If you have a co-presenter, include their information when filling out this form. If you do not, write "none" in the boxes that require an answer. No additional co-presenters can be added to your classes after they are accepted by SELF. Make sure every presenter and co-presenter is included on the application when it is submitted. If you intend to co-present one class with one co-presenter and then a second class with another co-presenter please fill out two separate presenter application forms so you can do the pictures and biographies of all involved. SELF prefers that your proposals fit into one of these tracks.

SELF is asking our presenters to be involved and fully participate in SELF.  We want you to be accessible to attendees so they may ask questions, get to know you, and that you will participate in the weekend experience of SELF.

I understand that some workshop materials are limited in quantity and will be available on a “first come, first served” basis.
I agree not to present the same classes proposed here within 150 miles of Atlanta or in the proceeding four months prior to SELF in 150 miles. Presenting at events not in that range is not an issue.
SELF does not make copies of handouts for classes. The presenter(s) must make their own arrangements for handouts/packets.
I understand that educator compensation is based on the sessions I provide: one class plus a panel or hosted event earns an event package; one class earns a 50% discounted regular package; two classes plus a panel earn an event package and half-price lodging for up to two nights at the $149 rate; and an intensive plus one class or panel earns an event package and half-price lodging for up to three nights at the $149 rate.
If I believe I will or might have an issue presenting at SELF after I have accepted an invitation to present, I will notify SELF PRIOR to April 1st as a matter of consideration of print distribution (thank you!).
SELF does not provide transportion to or from the airport. Please see the hotel page for transport information.
