Emotional Labor & Kink: Knowing When to Hold Back, Give, or Walk Away by Sarai311

Sunday, June 14 · 9:30 AM–10:45 AM
GA 2 · Workshop/Class

This session explores the emotional labor that often travels alongside kink, not just in scenes, but in the roles we play as caretakers, femmes, BIPOC, and emotional anchors. Through quiet reflection, journaling, and boundary-mapping, we'll unpack what it means to be "emotionally available" by default, and how race, gender, and role expectations can blur the line between care and depletion. We'll name the signs of consent fatigue, misread intimacy, and emotional outsourcing, and explore scripts and strategies for reclaiming your capacity without guilt. This class is a soft place to land; offering tools, language, and space to reassess when to give, hold back, or walk away.
